Circus Photoshoot
Wedding Palace, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan
After going to some effort to arrange a photoshoot, choose a location and scouting it before the photoshoot, coordinate with the model, and after confirmation from her, took it all was ready and prepared for the photoshoot. I then asking my friends Aaron to tag along as he is learning all about photography, and I though that this would be a great opportunity for him to get some good learning in.
Well come the day, I left early and went to the location, the circus building in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. Getting there I thought that well I would be early and have some time to check out all the locations that I thought would be good for a shoot, but to my surprise Aaron was already there and he had already been to the Wedding Palace, my alternative local for this days shooting.
Having arranged for the model to be there at 13H00 for the shoot. Well 13H00 came and went, with no message from her to say as to why the delay, trying to contact her there was no response and no answer… well the day seemed like a loss. However I decided to do a couple of shots of the location and show Aaron some pointers, during which I took some photographs of his for him to see the results of what I advice I was sharing. I was quite happy with the results that came out of this now impromptu lesson session and photos taken.
This building is not regularly visited for photoshoots or by tourist, my feelings were that I found it to be such a great location for a photoshoot and with so many different facets and nuances to the building lending itself to more than one visit, I will definitely be back there for another shoot.
From there we went on to the Wedding Palace, on arrival there was nobody around giving the possibility of having better shots without a crowd of people in the photos. Got my D80 out with the wider lens and while I was doing this a wedding group came up to the stairs….. we thought they were waiting for their photographer that did not show…. and after a while the promptly walked off and got into their vehicles and left… rather odd we thought.
When walking to the entrance to show Aaron the inside we saw there was a notice posted on the front door that the Wedding Palace would be closed for the 4 days of the long weekend (7th – 10th November), this then explained the situation. We surmise that they came to get married and found that it was closed… I am sure that there were lots of upset people this day and a few arguments…. I hope they managed to sort it all out in the end…..
I got a couple of shots of the building and then one of the unhappy couple on the steps in front of the building. The rain the previous night had formed large puddles of water in the driveway, making for spectacular shots of the building and the couple, with the reflections in the water.
