Eyelashes Black Wildebeest (white-tailed Gnu) male watching me
Late afternoon Black Wildebeest (white-tailed Gnu) male turned in surprise when I came up out of the grass behind him. I found a small family group whilst on the way down the hillside and wanted to see how close I could get to take a photograph. I dropped my gear and camera bag in the long grass, crouched down and began to creep closer to them. After a long and painstaking time I managed to get about 10 meters away from them. Then I slowly stood up and managed to get a couple of good photos before they sprung into action and bounded down the hill towards what they considered a safe distance from me, turning around and snorted there displeasure of having been disturbed.
